Leslie Hindman Auctioneers just completed their spring sale of Contemporary, Modern, American and European Art for a grand total of $2.5 million where Picasso's Femme au Fauteuil No. 4 sold for $103,700.
Leslie Hindman Auctioneers are in Chicago, Illinois. The Spring auction of Contemporary, Modern, American and European Art totalled $2.7 million to a packed house and phones ringing constantly.
Some highlights include Sir Terry Frost’s Orange and Blue Upright with an estimate of $40,000-60,000 going for $67,100. A painting by Chicago artist Ed Paschke sold Calypso Rojo for $51,240 and the Roger Brown painting went for $46,360. There were even a few well-known artists such as Roy Lichtenstein’s Thinking Nude sold for $134,200. Picasso’s Femme au Fauteuil No. 4 sold for $103,700.
