Some of the proceeds will be going to charity.
Custom-made pieces of furniture belonging to the late Michael Jackson have been valued and are to be auctioned off, with some of the proceeds going to charity. Julien's Auctions - which has worked with Sotheby's and Christies in the past, cooperating with the former in 2006 to sell items belonging to Cher - will be hosting the sale of the 22 articles, which include a nine-seater velvet sofa in red and a leopard-print seat that comes with ostrich feather trimmings.
In addition, a set of two velvet armchairs - complete with embroidered gold eagles - will also be going under the hammer.
The two charities to benefit from the event are Music ares - which offers health care to needy musicians - and Joshua's Heart, which is dedicated to combating world hunger. Jackson had planned to incorporate these furnishings in his London home during his comeback tour in the city and fans can now visit a reworking of what the property would have looked like in Las Vegas prior to the sale.
