Drexel furniture manufacturer was founded by the Huffman family in 1903 in North Carolina in the USA. During the first decades of the 20th century, Drexel primarily produced "made-to-order" dining chairs and traditional wooden bedroom suites. After World War II, Drexel merged with other furniture plants in the area, one of them being Heritage Furniture. The company was renamed to Drexel Heritage Furniture and started producing a whole range of traditional furniture inspired by America, British, French, Italian and Asian designs from various periods such as Victorian Edwardian era French Empire or Louis XV-inspired styles and others.
Drexel Heritage Furniture was always praised for the high quality of the wooden material and craftsmanship across the whole range of their products. Beautiful wooden and high polish veneers characterize all of the Drexel Heritage products, whether it is a dining table, a bed frame, a chest of drawers, or a simple dining chair. Drexel was always committed to delivering to their customers the highest quality of craftsmanship that lasted for many decades.
Today, although the company is not in business anymore, the vintage Drexel pieces remain popular and sought on the second-hand markets. For someone that looks for traditional wooden, classy, and elegant high-quality furniture that will last for decades and age well, Drexel pieces may be a great alternative to modern flat packs.
