Barbie, named after the designer’s daughter Barbara, was created in order to allow the child to be anything she wanted to be through the doll, with the aid of Barbie’s numerous outfit choices! Barbie made her debut in a black and white swimsuit but now has over 150 inspirational careers and is sold in 150 countries. Barbie doll stands at 11.5 inches tall and she is often represented by her trademark colour, Barbie Pink.
On record, the best selling Barbie doll was recorded in 1992 and it was the Totally Hair™ Doll with hair from her head to her toes but it is Holiday Barbie™ that is consistently a best seller year after year.
