A clock created by the renowned US craftsman Simon Willard has been sold for $57,500 (£37,800).
The timepiece was available through LiveAuctioneers.com and came as part of a sale of antique items.
It was staged by Gordon S Converse & Co and may have appealed to anyone on the lookout for a bargain.
The work of Willard - who died in 1848 - arguably possesses the kind of quality that those seeking antique valuations appreciate.
Elsewhere, the event saw a large clock depicting Reims Cathedral sell for $8,050, while a selection of English bracket pieces fetched between $3,450 and $6,325.
Other items up for grabs included a Chelsea mantel clock, which bagged $1,610.
Meanwhile, Bedfordshire on Sunday recently reported the story of a paired Wally Bird ceramic piece which went for £14,000 at auction.
It was discovered by a couple when they cleared out their house and may impress those seeking antique appraisals.
