The piece had an antiques valuation of between £40,000 and £60,000.
A Chinese vase found in an attic on the Isle of Man has sold for more than eight times its antiques valuation.
The piece - which is made of Qianlong porcelain - went under the hammer for over £500,000 after it was given a pre-sale estimate of between £40,000 and £60,000, the BBC reports.
It was discovered in a West Baldwin house and was purchased at Murray's Auctioneers by a telephone bidder from Hong Kong.
What's more, the news provider stated three of the largest Chinese art dealers took a trip to the Isle of Man last week to see the item.
Auctioneer Murray Keefe pointed out the price of the vase was "staggering".
This comes after a blue and white dragon Chinese vase with an antiques valuation of £10,000 sold for £4.8 million at auction when it was snapped up by a China-based bidder in a San Francisco sale.
