Those looking to find antique valuations might be inspired by the story of one recent sale.
Antique valuation seekers might be interested to learn that two sheepdogs have been sold for a record price at auction - and one commentator has suggested such animals are highly sought after.
Gus Dermody, a presenter on BBC's One Man And His Dog, responded to news that a 26-month-old border collie called Rex and a 14-month-old pooch called Ron bagged £5,145 each at the Skipton Auction Mart event.
He is quoted by the Daily Mail as stating: "The bidding for Rex was like machine-gun fire."
Mr Dermody added that "prices are rising" because there is "a shortage of good dogs".
Previously, the record for a sheepdog sale stood at £4,305, which was also recorded in the Yorkshire town.
The purchase may impress sellers who are keen to identify the best possible value when putting their rarities up for grabs.
Previously, the Bernama news agency reported on the apparent popularity of cat ceramics as a prized item.
