The item originated from China.
People keen on seeking an antiques valuation might be interested to note a Chinese teapot has fetched £108,000 at auction.
The item - which was discovered in Dorset - went under the hammer at a Bonhams auction in New Bond Street, London, the Bournemouth Echo reports.
Spokesman for the auctioneers Colin Sheaf stated the company is urging anyone in the county who owns Chinese art to get in touch with them.
He added: "Interest in Chinese works of art has reached an all-time high, with many items now selling for six-figure sums."
But Bonhams refused to reveal the exact part of Dorset in which the item had been found.
This comes after a Chinese vase sold for £4.8 million, although it previously had an antiques valuation of £10,000 placed on it.
Dessa Goddard, vice-president and director of Asian works of art at Bonhams, said it was best to err on the side of caution when making the estimate.
