Anyone after clocks and watches appraisals may be interested in the sale of one famous actor's timepiece.
The Fame Bureau and WDX have hosted an entertainment auction inthe City of London, which saw a variety of items from the world ofglamour go under the hammer. Among the items that may interest those with a passion forantique jewellery, James Dean's lucky watch bearing the lateactor's initials was up for grabs.
Moreover, according to Professional Jeweller, the timepiece waspresented with an estimate of £30,000 to £35,000.
Regarding the sale, the Telegraph quoted James Wilkinson fromThe Fame Bureau as stating: "Not only did Dean attribute hissuccess to the watch, but it also linked him to his father who gavehim the chain for it."
In addition, the actor's insistence on wearing the watch wasapparently not appreciated by director Elia Kazan on the set of thefilm East of Eden. Mr Wilkinson added that Kazan eventually relented and let Deanwear the timepiece, although he insisted the engraved initialsshould be covered up.
