People interested in art valuation might be interested to note that the ashes of one of the country's most famous cats have fetched more than £800 at an auction earlier this week (July 22nd).
The remains of Frisky - the tabby cat who appeared in the opening credit sequence of more than 1,000 episodes of Coronation Street - were sold for around five times their estimated price as they were expected to attract bids of up to £150 from fans of the iconic Manchester-based soap and TV memorabilia.
Frisky appeared on the show crouching on the roof of Jack Duckworth's pigeon loft and many fans were left upset when he was put to sleep in 2000 aged 14 after contracting terminal cancer, the Daily Mirror reports.
Meanwhile, avid Coronation Street watchers may also like to be aware of the fact that members of the cast - including Alison King, Katherine Helly and Helen Worth - have donated pairs of their shoes for an auction on eBay to raise funds for landmine charity MAG.
