Those seeking antique valuations might be inspired by details of one sale in the US.
An auction in the US has seen $291,000 (£182,000) worth of lots purchased under the hammer.
At the Possible Dreams Auction, bidders were invited to try and secure a range of appealing gift experiences in aid of Martha's Vineyard Community Services.
For instance, a dinner with former CIA operative Valerie Plame, her husband Joe Wilson and director Doug Liman fetched $10,000.
This also came with a pair of tickets to see the premiere of Mr Liman's latest film, Fair Game, which is based on Ms Plame's experiences.
In addition, the highest sum of the day was achieved for a trip to the south of France donated by Carol McManus.
It accrued $25,000, which included a series of culinary sessions at a chateau in Provence.
Elsewhere, antique valuation seekers may recently have noted that a vase discovered in Dorking was sold for £105,000, Get Surrey reported.
It had previously been given a cost estimate of no more than £8,000.
