A famous set of false teeth has been bought at auction.
Anyone seeking antique valuations for an iconic item might already be aware that a partial set of dentures once owned by Sir Winston Churchill has sold for £15,200.
The upper set was made specifically for the British World War Two leader and was picked up for three times their pre-auction estimate.
Jane Hughes, head of learning at London's Hunterian Museum, is quoted by the Associated Press as saying: "These are the teeth that saved the world."
She went on to explain: "He wanted to maintain [the lisp] because he was already so well known for it."
Ms Hughes added that the dentures did not connect with the top of the mouth, which gave Churchill's voice its distinctive character.
Meanwhile, antique valuation seekers might have noted that a piece of Bonnie Prince Charlie's sword is due to go under the hammer next month at a Lyon and Turnbull sale, as reported by the Scotsman.
