The sale of one football hero's jersey may motivate people to seek sports memorabilia appraisals.
An England goalkeeping jersey belonging to legendary shot-stopper Gordon Banks has been sold at auction for £1,500.
The sports memorabilia price was paid for a spare jersey owned by the star at the 1970 World Cup finals, The Star publication of south Yorkshire reports.
Following the tournament, Banks became well known for pulling off one of the most famous saves of all time, when he denied Brazil's Pele with a parry from a close-range header.
Bonhams in Chester was the location for the fundraiser, which was organised by Nora Cocker, widow of the late England trainer Les Cocker.
In total, the collection featured 19 football rarities and achieved an overall value of £27,522.
Other notable items included a spare shirt belonging to 1966 World Cup match winner Sir Geoff Hurst, which was sold for £8,880.
