Many sellers may wish to secure a high football memorabilia price this year.
Now may be a good time to secure sports memorabilia appraisals, after one expert discussed the high value of many such items.
Writing for the Telegraph, Judith Miller outlined some of the rarities that have attracted big bids in recent times.
She noted that a number ten shirt belonging to England's World Cup winning hero Sir Geoff Hurst was recently displayed in Harrods for £2.3 million.
"This was some 25 times more than the figure Sir Geoff received for it at auction at Christie's a decade earlier," Ms Miller observed.
She also pointed out that the shirt worn by Pele in the 1970 World Cup final was sold for £157,750 in 2002.
Other items can also play well with bidders, such as the boots worn by the Brazilian star when he scored his 1,000th career goal, which fetched £11,163 at a Christie's auction.
Such products may be increasingly valuable at the moment, given that the World Cup in South Africa runs until July 11th.
