Horace Dunkley's collection is thought to be one of the largest in the world.
A collection of rare toy cars that has been valued at £100,000is to be put on the auction block this week. Horace Dunkley, 65, has had his 2,281 Matchbox Models ofYesteryear appraised - ranging in price from £5 to £2,200 each -and they are to be sold on March 24th and 25th, the Daily Telegraphreports.
Vectis Auctions's Lorna Kaufman noted that this assembly is of"particular interest" because Mr Dunkley owns 96 per cent of theCode One Model of Yesteryear line, "which is extraordinarilyunique". It took the former lorry driver 30 years to reach this point,having traversed the globe in search of the toys and he has saidthat he and his wife now intend to "grow old disgracefully" on theearnings from the lot.
Over in the US, a group of unusual paintings are also to be soldat the Collela Gallery in Syracuse, 9WSYR.com recently reported -an event that is expected to attract interest from all over theworld.
