Ideas for art appraisals could be influenced by one event in London.
Anyone on the lookout for antique paintings might want to check out the Masterpiece Fair showpiece at London's Chelsea Barracks.
Giles Hutchinson Smith, chief executive of Mallet, discussed details of the event, where those in attendance can bid for a variety of items including fine wines, jewelry, cars, artwork and 3rd century Celtic weaponry.
"We've wanted a great fair in London for a number of years," he explained. "The closure of Grosvenor House last year gave us an opportunity to create a fair that was designed by dealers for dealers."
Mr Hutchinson Smith added that the display will be a valuable addition to the city's art market.
The spectacle runs from June 24th to June 29th and contains items that have a combined worth of more than £1 billion.
It might represent the sort of extravaganza that encourages those with a passion for antique paintings to identify the best possible artwork to sell.
